Step 1: Share a little about your family
Fill out the intake form and tell us what you’re looking for or what you’re able to offer. There’s no expectation to commit to anything — this just helps us understand fit.
Step 2: Thoughtful matching
We review submissions and look for matches that feel safe, respectful, and aligned for everyone involved. We try very hard to match all requests, though timing and availability can vary.
Step 3: Safety Check
Once a potential match is identified, we reach out to the family offering support to gather 2–3 reference phone numbers. We personally connect with references as part of this process. Families offering support may also choose to complete an optional background check through a trusted third-party provider.
Step 4: Introduction
Once a match is made, both families will receive a brief introduction email. This email shares basic information about each other and offers an easy way to connect and take next steps together.
Step 5: Connect at your own pace
From there, you decide together how and when to connect. This might start with a phone call, a walk, or a casual meet-up — whatever feels most comfortable.
Step 5: Ongoing, low-pressure support
Support is meant to be flexible and human. It might look like after-school help, an occasional evening, or simply being another trusted adult in a child’s life. There’s no minimum commitment and no pressure to continue if it’s not a good fit.
Step 6: Check-ins and adjustments
Needs change, schedules shift, and that’s okay. We’re here to help make adjustments or explore new matches if needed.
